FC certificate of LED high bay light
Certification required for exporting LED lights to the US market
More and more American households are using light-emitting diodes (LEDs) for efficient and energy-saving lighting.
According to the latest results from the US Residential Energy Consumption Survey, in 2020, 47% of American households used LEDs in most or all of their indoor lighting. In contrast, in the previous survey conducted in 2015, only 4% of households used LEDs in most or all indoor lighting.
The safety requirements for LED lighting fixtures in the US market mainly include UL and CS
A. ETL, etc. The main certification testing standards include UL 8750, UL 1598, UL 153, UL 1993, UL 1574, UL 2108, UL 1310, UL 1012, etc.
UL8750 is a safety requirement for LED light sources used in lighting products, including requirements for usage environment, mechanical structure, electrical mechanism, etc
The electromagnetic compatibility requirement for LED lighting products in the US market is FCC certification. The certification testing standard is FCC PART18, and the certification type is DOC (Declaration of Conformity). The biggest difference between FCC testing and EU CE certification is that it only has EMI requirements and no EMS requirements.
There are two testing items in total: radiated emission and conducted emission, and the testing frequency range and limit requirements for these two testing items are also different from those of the EU CE certification.
For LED lamps exported to the US market, in addition to UL certification for safety and FCC certification for electromagnetic compatibility, the most important certification is Energy Star certification. Energy Star certification for lighting products is based on UL and FCC certification, mainly testing and certifying the optical performance and lumen maintenance life of the products.
